The area around Victoria Falls is lush with vegetation. The falls are on the Zambesi River and are roughly twice the height of the Niagara Falls in North America.
Victoria Falls is a place I’ve wanted to visit for a long time, so I jumped at the chance to go in February 2020. It didn’t disappoint and there is a great variety of wildlife, including giraffes.
I chose this photograph as it feels like we’re watching the giraffe from behind the trees (as I was). The only evidence of people being around is the telephone lines in the background. These phone lines also run along the solitary railway line that crosses the Zimbabwe / Zambia border at the falls.
