This is a Burchell’s zebra, the species of plains zebra to be found in Namibia. The other type of zebra you will find there is the Hartmann’s zebra, a sub-species of the mountain zebra. The Hartmann’s zebra can be distinguished by its thinner stripes which run the full length of their legs.

Zebra are often found with springbok and wildebeest.
